Qatar Advertising Competition

In early 2014, team of five students from The NewHouse, a student-run advertising agency based in the Newhouse School, won first place in the Qatar 2022 Women’s Soccer Challenge advertising competition, presented to the World Cup Supreme Committee in Doha, Qatar.

The students, all advertising majors at Newhouse, competed against undergraduate and graduate students from all over the United States and Canada. Finalists were flown to Doha for a week of sightseeing and rehearsals.

“We are so excited to win this international competition and show once again that Newhouse advertising students are simply the best in the world.”

The competition required students to develop an integrated advertising campaign to encourage young Qatari women ages 6-14 to play soccer. The NewHouse team created a campaign called “Find it in Football,” which encourages girls and their parents to experience the physical, mental and cultural benefits of the sport.
