Press Release: Liberia & Nepal Residency Program

Newhouse Center for Global Engagement and the Accountability Lab are announcing a residency program for visual communication students. Internships for the Summer of 2015 will be based in Liberia and Nepal.

Syracuse, N.Y., February 10, 2015 —  Newhouse Center for Global Engagement announced today that it will recruit three “resident” interns in Liberia and Nepal starting Summer 2015: one multimedia intern and one visual design intern in Liberia; and one multimedia intern in Nepal.

Newhouse Center for Global Engagement expects to bolster accountability and empower youth by cooperating with the Accountability Lab in Liberia and Nepal where the resident interns will be producing content, training and mentoring Accountability Lab staff and partners. The Center and the Accountability Lab are searching for applicants (graduate students are preferred) who are self-motivated, globally aware and have strong communication skills. Previous experience in Asia or Africa is strongly advised.

The internships, starting Summer 2015, will require interns to stay 10-12 weeks in either Liberia or Nepal. The positions will be filled on a rolling basis.
