Reuters enterprise reporter; Former Edward R. Murrow fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations
Ned Parker is a former Edward R. Murrow press fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is currently an investigative reporter for Reuters. In 2015, he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for his reporting from Iraq for Reuters and received press awards in 2016 from the New York Deadline Club and New York Press Club for his reporting from Iraq. He also published an essay in Foreign Affairs magazine in 2012 that warned the Iraq on the verge of becoming a failed state and risked fragmentation. The White House wrote a rebuttal, dismissing his findings and proclaiming Iraq’s “remarkable progress”. Parker left Iraq in 2015 after he received death threats over his coverage of right abuses on the Iraqi government’s side in the war against Islamic State.
