Lamis Abdelaaty conducts research that explores how international and domestic factors have shaped asylum policies in Egypt, Kenya and Turkey. Her broader research interests include international relations, human rights and humanitarianism, asylum and migration and international organizations and delegation. She earned a Ph.D. in politics from Princeton University; a master’s degree in political science from McGill University; and a master’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the American University in Cairo.
